The terrible tragedy of the century: the Khojaly genocide
On the occasion of the 33rd anniversary of the Khojaly tragedy, an event was held on the theme "Heydar Aliyev's leadership mission in the global recognition of the tragedy of the century" organized by the Naftalan City Executive Power.
The event was attended by employees of the City Executive Power, the chairman of the Naftalan City Organization of the New Azerbaijan Party, heads of departments, enterprises and organizations, intellectuals and young people.
First, the event participants commemorated the dear memory of the National Leader Heydar Aliyev and the martyrs with a minute of silence.
The event discussed in detail the suffering inflicted on the Azerbaijani people in the Khojaly tragedy on the night of February 25-26, 1992, the measures taken by the state to inform the world community about the genocide, and the worthy continuation of the policy pursued by the Great Leader Heydar Aliyev to give a political and legal assessment to the Khojaly genocide and introduce it to the world by the Head of State, Mr. Ilham Aliyev. It was noted that the ensuring of the territorial integrity of our country with the Historic Victory won in the 44-day Patriotic War, the complete cleansing of the city of Khojaly from separatists as a result of the local anti-terrorist measures carried out by the Azerbaijani Army in Karabakh on September 19, 2023, and the raising of the National Flag of Azerbaijan in the city of Khojaly by the head of state once again proved that the blood of the victims of the genocide and all our martyrs was not left on the ground, that their revenge had been taken, and recognized our people as a victorious nation all over the world.
