The judoka from Naftalan has become the winner of the national championship
Sharbatova Zeynab Rafael, a graduate of the judo section of the Naftalan City Children's and Youth Sports School operating under the Ganja-Dashkasan Regional Youth and Sports Department, won a bronze medal by placing 3rd in the 63 kg weight category at the U-21 Youth National Championship held in Baku on February 1, 2025, and a gold medal by placing 1st in the Youth Girls' Team National Championship on February 3.
The head of the city executive power Vugar Novruzov met with our young athlete and conveyed his sincere congratulations. Emphasizing that the development of sports in our country is one of the priorities of state policy, he said that sports in Azerbaijan have always been surrounded by high attention and care by our esteemed President Ilham Aliyev and First Vice-President Mehriban Aliyeva, and special attention has been paid to judo.
The Chief of the City Police Department Zaur Badalov noted that the development of mass sports in the regions, including in our city is the upbringing of a healthy generation which is our future.
On behalf of the youth of Naftalan, our young athlete expressed his gratitude for the conditions created in the field of sports and thanked him for the sincere meeting.
At the end of the event, Zeynab Sharbatova and her coach, master of sports Fuad Aliyev were awarded with an honorary diploma and a valuable gift by the Executive Power
