On the eve of the thirty-third anniversary of the tragedy of January 20, a number of events were held
With the organizational support of the Executive power of the city of Naftalan, a series of commemorative events dedicated to the thirty-third anniversary of the tragedy on January 20 continues in institutions and enterprises of the city, in secondary schools.
In the Naftalan city organization "New Azerbaijan“, in the Heydar Aliyev Center of Naftalan, in the representative office of the Youth and Career Development Center of Naftalan, in the Youth and Sports Department of Naftalan, in the Namazov kindergarten, in full secondary schools of the city in connection with the thirty-third anniversary of the tragedy on January 20, a number of events were held on the theme ”The role of National Leader Heydar Aliyev in bringing the truths of January 20 to the world community".
During the events, the memory of the children of the Motherland who gave their lives for the sovereignty and territorial integrity of Azerbaijan was honored. It was noted that despite the fact that many years have passed since the bloody massacre staged by soviet troops in Azerbaijan on January 20, our people do not forget about those terrible days. This tragedy is the beginning of the path of independence of our country, the page of honor and heroism of our history, the day of the triumph of our national will. It was stressed that on the initiative of national leader Heydar Aliyev, the tragedy of January 20 was given a political and legal assessment for the first time. This decision, embodying the general opinion of the Azerbaijani people, has gone down in history as a manifestation of the determination of Heydar Aliyev. At the commemorative events, an exhibition of drawings by schoolchildren was viewed, poems and compositions were listened to.
