The International Scientific-Practical Conference “Naftalan – Source of Health and Tourism Synergy. New Realities in The Region” has started

The main purpose of the Conference, which will be held on October 08-09, 2022 is to access the role and potential of the Naftalan city as a source of Synergy in the development of resort activity and the tourism in the region, as well as the opportunities for the tourism after the Patriotic War.

Specialists of the tourism, healthcare, sanatorium-resorts and representatives of the state authorities of Azerbaijan, Turkey, Latvia, Lithuania, Ukraine, Russian Federation and Federal Republic of Germany took the part in the conference.

The participants of the Conference first have visited the monument of National Leader Heydar Aliyev and the Memorial Complex erected in the memory of the Martyrs.

The Conference was declared open after viewing the photo stands reflecting the life and creativity of the National Leader at the Heydar Aliyev Center.

Mr. Vugar Novruzov, head of Executive Power of the Naftalan City has greeted the guests with his opening speech and has wished success to the work of the conference. He also has noted that it is the result of the successful domestic and foreign policy of our esteemed President, Mr. Ilham Aliyev, the worthy follower of the political course of the National Leader Heydar Aliyev, and the successful development strategy that is distinguished by its consistency and includes the realities of the new era, that our country has become a great authority among the countries of the world, is becoming a reliable partner and a guarantor of peace and stability in the region.

Special representative of the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan Emin Huseynov, Chairman of the State Tourism Agency of the Republic of Azerbaijan Fuad Nagiyev, Deputy Minister of Ecology and Natural Resources of the Republic of Azerbaijan Rauf Hajiyev, Member of Parliament Anar Mammadov, vice-president of SOCAR Khalik Mammadov, Executive Director of the State Support Agency for Non-Governmental Organizations of the Republic of Azerbaijan Aygun Aliyeva, Samir Gurbanov, Chief Executive Director of "PMD Hospitality" LLC, Umayra Taghiyeva, Head of the National Hydrometeorology Service of the Ministry of Ecology and Natural Resources, spoke development of tourism infrastructure in the liberated regions of our country and formation of the tourism services that meet international standards, expansion of the possibilities of using the existing tourism potential, health and tourism stimulating the activity, creating new tourist routes, as well as increasing the competitiveness of the health and tourism services of our country.

Then the conference continued its work in panel discussions. Also, the participants of the conference got acquainted with the products made from Naftalan oil, including the master class of Sabir Chopuroglu, the only artist in the world who paints with oil.

Within the framework of the conference, a memorandum of the cooperation was signed between the Azerbaijan Health and Thermal Tourism Support Association and the German Medical Health Association.

At the same time, the Naftalan Tourism Information Center was opened, in the around of the Center a tree-planting action was held by the participants of the conference, and memorial poles were buried.
