Naftalan waste water treatment plant commissioned
In recent years, within the framework of water supply and sewerage projects implemented in the regions, projects for the treatment and reuse of generated wastewater have been implemented in each city. Under the leadership of our esteemed President Ilham Aliyev, who considers the preservation of environmental stability and environmental protection a priority, the necessary measures to solve environmental problems are being implemented in our country.
One of the projects implemented in order to protect the environment and ensure environmental safety is the commissioning of a new wastewater treatment plant in the city of Naftalan with tourist potential.
The opening ceremony was attended by the Minister of Ecology and Natural Resources of the Republic of Azerbaijan Mukhtar Babayev, the head of the Executive power of Naftalan Vugar Novruzov and the Deputy chairman of the Open Joint Stock company “Azersu” Kocharli Hasanov.
First, they visited the monument to the Great Leader Heydar Aliyev, laid bouquets of flowers in front of him and honored his memory.
Then there was a presentation of the Naftalan wastewater treatment plant and an inspection of the complex.
It should be noted that at the initial stage, the first stage of the installation was built with a design total capacity of 6000 cubic meters per day and a processing capacity of 3000 thousand cubic meters. Solid waste contained in the incoming water to the installation is removed in large grids, and fine particles and oils are removed in sandblasting and degreasing chambers. After the completion of the mechanical treatment process, the wastewater is transferred to a biophosphoric plant for biological treatment. The biologically treated waters are deposited in the rinsing tanks and dewatered in the rinsing building. At the very end, the wastewater is cleaned and disinfected through a disc filter.
