Khojaly tragedy victims commemorated in Naftalan
31 years have passed since the tragedy in Khojaly. The Khojaly massacre, which took place at the end of the 20th century, is not only against the Azerbaijani people but also the heaviest crime committed against all of humanity.
The attribution of political value to the Khojaly genocide is directly related to the name of the Great Leader Heydar Aliyev. In 1994, on February 24, with the decision of the National Assembly, the Khojaly Genocide was given political value for the first time by declaring February 26 as the "Day of Khojaly Genocide" to be commemorated every year and informing international organizations about it.
In the city of Naftalan, the memory of the victims of the Khojaly tragedy was respectfully commemorated. The event was attended by the head of the city Executive Power, Vugar Novruzov, leaders of law enforcement agencies, the head of the "New Azerbaijan Party" organization of Naftalan city, the chairman of the City Elders Council, as well as representatives of the city's public.
The event participants visited the Memorial Complex dedicated to the memory of the homeland sons who died for the freedom of our country, laid wreaths, and read prayers for their souls.
