"January 20 - The Heroic History of the Struggle for Independence"
On the eve of the 35th anniversary of the January 20 tragedy, which is engraved in our history as a heroic chronicle and day of honor for our people, an event was held under the theme "January 20 - the heroic history of the struggle for independence" organized by the Naftalan City Executive Power.
First, the event participants observed a minute of silence in memory of the National Leader Heydar Aliyev and the martyrs.
The speakers emphasized the importance of the January 20 tragedy for the history of Azerbaijan's independence, noting that this event further strengthened the determination of our people to fight for their sovereignty. It was noted that January 20 is not only a day of mourning, but also a symbol of national unity and the struggle for freedom. It was emphasized that the January 20 tragedy is one of the tragedies that stands out for its particular cruelty among the tragedies that occurred in the history of the Azerbaijani people and in the 20th century as a whole. The exceptional services rendered by National Leader Heydar Aliyev in conveying the truth about the tragedy to the world community, the selflessness of our sons and daughters who fought for national freedom, and the heroism of our people were discussed. The event ended with a composition prepared by the schoolchildren.
