The International Scientific-Practical Conference has started in Naftalan

The main purpose of holding the International Scientific-Practical Conference in Naftalan was to study advanced practices in the field of medical tourism and the results of scientific research conducted in this field, to establish mutual relations between stakeholders in the tourism industry, to promote the development of tourism to activate cultural exchange, and to determine the perspectives for the development of the medical tourism sector.

The conference was attended by specialists in tourism, healthcare, sanatorium-resorts and representatives of the state authorities of Azerbaijan, Turkey, Latvia, Lithuania, Kazakhstan, Uzbekistan, the Federal Republic of Germany and the Russian Federation.

On the first day of the conference, a tree-planting action was held by the participants in the territory of the Heydar Aliyev park in connection with the 100th anniversary of the Great Leader Heydar Aliyev.

The participants got to know Naftalan oil, which is unique in the world due to its healing properties.

Within the framework of the conference, the participants got acquainted with the archaeological excavations conducted in the unique multi-layered settlement of the Eneolithic, Bronze and Middle Ages in the Gaşaltı Garagoyunlu village of the city, and exhibited the exhibits discovered during the excavations.

This will contribute to the creation of alternative tourism opportunities in Naftalan.

Later, a visit was made to the “Nar bağı” in the village, and the guests were given detailed information about the tourism potential.

The conference visited the liberated Talish village and Sugovushan settlement, which is included in the Karabakh Economic Region, got acquainted with the restoration and reconstruction works in terms of tourism potential, visited the monument complex erected in memory of the martyrs in the settlement, and paid their respects by placing flowers in front of it.

Due to the attention and concern of our Honorable President Ilham Aliyev, large-scale works have been carried out in the direction of developing the potential of health tourism in Naftalan. The commissioning of the Naftalan-Talish-Sugovushan road infrastructure poses a dangerous threat to the development of regional tourism.

The plenary session and panel discussions of the conference will continue the next day.

It should be noted that an international conference was also held in October last year. Representatives of a number of foreign countries and more than 100 participants attended the two-day International Conference.
