Greening in Naftalan, the center of international tourism, has already become a tradition. Over the past three months, more than 3,200 trees have been planted in the city's Heydar Aliyev, Nariman Narimanov and Victory Parks, as well as on avenues and roadsides. In the framework of planting actions preference was given to planting of cedar, olive, acacia, cypress, sycamore and maklura.

Naftalan has healing properties not only due to its unique oil composition, but also due to its dry and healthy microclimate for tens of thousands of tourists who come here. The factor forming such climate of Naftalan is the climatic features of the area and thousands of pine trees, which were once planted in this resort town. Because of the global climate changes that are now occurring on a planetary scale, recently the preference in shaping the urban landscape in Naftalan is to plant trees that are mostly adapted to the local conditions and produce a lot of oxygen.

One such tree is the maclura. Note that the maclura, native to the European continent, is a genus of plants belonging to the mulberry family. With its green tuberous fruits and broad leaves, the mulberry is considered the most useful tree because of its abundant oxygen production.
