An event was held on the occasion of International Volunteer Day
On the occasion of the International Volunteer Day on December 5, an event was held in Naftalan, organized by the Executive power of the city of Naftalan, the Azerbaijan Red Crescent Society (AzRCS) and the International Committee of the Red Cross.
The event was attended by the head of the City Executive сommittee, employees of the International Committee of the Red Cross, representatives of the Red Crescent Society, responsible employees of the city Executive Committee and volunteers.
First, the head of the Executive power together with volunteers took part in an action to plant trees in the city and congratulated them on the “International Volunteer Day”.
Speakers who spoke at the event noted that today AzRCS is a national society that represents the International Red Cross and the Red Crescent Movement at a high level in our republic. The humanitarian and social projects implemented by AzRCS in the republic, educational work on various topics, the successful implementation of projects to strengthen public health, rules of conduct during natural disasters and man-made disasters, first aid and the development of other skills in this area are an example of this. Thanks to the attention and care given to volunteers by the President of our country, a significant youth component of volunteers joined the projects implemented in this direction and contributed to the implementation of these projects.
At the end, the active volunteers of the society were awarded diplomas and certificates of honor.
